Though he is more comfortable with a square wave than any real instrument, John loves to create music. There's just
something comfortint about playing with blips and bloops enough to realize that this would make a totally
awesome boss battle theme. This is just some of the results.
Many of the files here were made in a program called pxtone
created by Pixel, the man who made the freeware
Metroidvania platformer Cave Story. pxtone is a
music creation program that is not only easy to learn, but results in lightweight files for easy distribution.
There's even a library included for using pxtone in your own programming projects! I wholly recommend
you checking it out.
While everything here is also available in MP3, the original source/pxtone file is also available.
If you don't feel like clicking each link individually or if you're bandwidth-conscious (Which, by
the way, thank you!), here's a complete archive of all the stuff I've done with it, plus
the pxtone audio player. There's even a few songs not available separately!

| The longest song I have ever done in pxtone (Spanning 4 minutes), it's another attempting at recreating industrial metal within the confines of the programs. The results actually seemed to be somewhat successful and I someday hope to come back and add some vocals into the mix. For now though, enjoy! |

| Another song for the fictional game "Tcat in Dangerous Land". I'm trying to decide if I made this song more for the beat stuck in my head or for the profuse usage of "Cyber" in everything I did that day. Cyber-forks! Cyber-backpack! Cyber-Cybers! No, wait... |

| Originally meant to be an intro to an even longer song, I never got around to making the rest. Still, I find this pretty neat in its simplicity and vaguely Castlevania-ish. It's also where I learned I seemed to be allergic to short song titles. |

| This only makes me want to play Sunset Riders. Of course, so do most other things.
Bury me with my money! |

|
| I think this is the closest I will ever come to remaking Slayer in pxtone. What started as an amusing Christmas joke has now TAKEN LIFE. Someday, I'll complete the lyrics and throw them up with the song. |

|
| Based on Tim Sparvero's Infinity Roads comic, this one became a bit more militaristic in nature, but I like it all the same. I keep wondering if I should expand it further... |
|
|
| My own arrangement of the ever-addicting Dynablade song from the SNES game "Kirby's Super Star Saga". |
|
|
| Written as a birthday present to Tcat. It still remains one of my favorites. It's just... Happy. |
|
|
| Made for a friend's rebel with perhaps maybe a cause character, Rick Cressen. I was trying to envision an opening level if he ever starred in his own game and this is what came to mind! |
|
|
| Made for a friend of mine who is in the Old School Wrestling league in Kentucky for the heck of it. He goes by the name of "Ultraman Trey" and his finishing move involves the power glove. Even though that is awesome enough, I decided to make some cheesy NES gamie music to go along with it for the heck of it. |
