This is where John keeps all his cool stuff! From games he has done in his spare time to silly web stuff, to actually useful (GASP!) applications, it's all here. Keep posted for more neat stuff!

Game Projects

Project: ARWING
Heavily influenced by the classic rail-shooter Starfox, this was my final project for Game Programming and Design for college. Done by myself in a span of two weeks (Working until the morning it was due on the level design), it's overly basic but emulates the basic elements of the rail shooter quite well. Go through the rings to get points! Damage takes them away! Also featuring: moving cannon fodder! While today I can see a lot of things that I should have changed in the design process, it still remains the single most satisfactory 100 I received in a class ever.

Current Status: Complete, Unless I decide to implement braking and boosting in the future.

The MST3K Random Quote Applet
Requires a Facebook profile to access. A while back, I got bored and wondered how the Facebook API worked. I did just that and while I can't say it was a very pleasant experience, I made something fun out of it in the end. All this app does is display a random quote from the show "Mystery Science Theater 3000" in the user's profile, but with a twist: Users can submit their own quotes and choose which one they want displayed. Remember, your profile isn't perfect until you go through every quote from "Mitchell" at least once a day!

Fighting Game Name Generator
Because really, deep down inside, you've always wanted to play a game called "Beat Mix Vampires 3", combining techno and bloodsucking in one swift motion. I can't make that happen, but I can at least make you think of it with this little timewaster.

Play with it here.
